Colectivo Piloto at SXSW EDU 2023

SXSW 2023 Advancing Inclusive Storytelling

Are you heading to SXSW EDU this year? Join us for an exciting week of conversations and networking opportunities!

Colectivo Piloto will be conducting a session about how to advance inclusive multimedia storytelling with K12 students on March 8th.

This talk introduces the implementation of media literacy programs to foster students’ entrepreneurial mindset and advance critical thinking skills through inclusive multimedia storytelling. Content design is explained by successful examples such as an after school program at the Museum of the Moving Image, NYC, where students create stop motion films inspired by the "UN Convention on the Rights of the Child".

Additionally, Director and Co-founder Pablo Herrera will be doing a 1:1 mentor session, advising on:

  • How to use multimedia resources to encourage students’ independence in exercising a critical point of view

  • How to design a program to empower kids' voices and inspire their advocacy for social change

  • How to implement inclusive multimedia practices to improve students' language and contribute to their social/emotional development
